Συναισθηματική νοημοσύνη, μετασχηματιστική ηγεσία και ευημερία στο χώρο εργασίας

People are changing and the way we manage ourselves in our workplace is changing. Even the concept of intelligence or ability has changed. This has affected the world of work, regardless of the field we are referring to. Entrepreneurs, executives, managers and employees in general are required to develop new skills and strategies for a new market. Here is the place for Emotional Intelligence (EI) and an additional weapon for maintaining employability levels, but also quality and production standards in a new economic and social scenario. In previous years, employees’ emotional intelligence was low on the list of qualifications, especially for leaders.

However, as the market has changed, the way one relates emotionally to others becomes much more important. Company leaders need to understand the emotional connection that the public has with services, products and companies as a whole. With globalization, emotional intelligence is more important than ever when groups are intercultural and global, increasing the complexity of emotional interactions and the way they are expressed. Essentially, emotional intelligence in the workplace results in understanding, expression and management, good relationships and problem solving under pressure. Researchers have suggested that emotional intelligence affects how well employees interact with their co-workers.

Emotional intelligence is also considered to play a role in how employees manage stress and conflict as well as overall performance at work. Employees with high emotional intelligence scores perform better on scores of interpersonal function, leadership skills, and stress management. Other studies have linked higher emotional intelligence to better job satisfaction as well as overall job performance. Employees with high emotional intelligence are able to work in teams, adapt to change and be flexible.
